THIS JUST IN . . .

Darwin and Lexington have made a deal involving starting pitching, and the rumor mill says that the Rebels aren't done in that department.

What a shocker.

Matt, click on the Darwin or Lexington links in the announcement. They both have press releases.

Matt Caskey said...

darwin does not. and i made the mistake of clicking that first.

When I click the Darwin link I get "Finches reunite with Greinke." That is their trade announcement. Seems that they do.

Two thing happened with this deal, as in the next one: Yuma wins the West and Frostbite wins out East, although Darwin may move into 3rd or second with this deal. Ron, what good does it mean when you have the most OF depth and most C depth but still have trouble actually being successful because you traded your rotation for filler? What are you doing? And why don't you make these mistakes with my team?

Mistake.. funny. McGowan has every chance if not a better (mentally stable one too) to be as good as Greinke. Both still have to prove how good they are, and they both are doing that. SO, I pick up the best-catching prosepct in baseball at the same time. How this gives Yuma the west is unknown and ill-thoughtout! This only helps my team now and the future. Come on eric, think really hard before saying something like this. ALSO, even IF I didn't trade him, I would have to send him down to use Harden when he returns to the rotation. NOW I can do this without a problem. Quality over Quanity again.

Really? McGowan is a good pitcher, yes. But for Greinke who makes nothing, is only 23, and has potential to be a seriously good ace. Yes Salty is good, but if I were you, I would count on him at firstbase instead. He's very poor defensively and I think overall, a bit overrated (I have seen him play a LOT). Whatever, then good trade Ronald, how could I have not thought this out!!! pshhh...

ok, so im going to trade for mcgowan because he has every chance to be as good as grienke.....so then why dont you trade for volquez? for bumgarner? for mcgee? they have every bit of chance to become as good as grienke and mcgowan. ron, every pitcher has the potential to be as good as or as worse as someone. grienke has better stats and could help your team now more than mcgowan can. i didnt know that mcgowan was a must have commidity. there are dozens of pitcher out there with potential.

who said greinke was so good? he has pitched just 50 INN this year and has a horrible track record. Not to mention he is pitching for arguably the worst team in baseball.

Since August 7th of last year Greinke has posted a 1.64 ERA. I don't expect that level of dominance to last, but I do expect that he will be an All-Star this season. Having originally drafted him and following him closely, I consider him a known quantity and his acquisition a more-than-acceptable risk.
