LEXINGTON MOVES ANOTHER STARTER
Less than 20 games into the season, the peripatetic Rebels organization has once again moved another one of their projected spring training starters----and it's a major name, going to an Eastern contender! Curious, to say the least....and if you're curious, read here and here. By the way, in spite of any rhetoric you might read elsewhere, the Rebels announced that they were sending the player they acquired to the minors, so this is essentially a deal for the future on their part.

When you make a deal where you acquire a prospect that you do not use, doesn't that mean you give in this season? Besides Frostbite, who essentially acquired Cole Hamels, Felix Hernandez, and many others for Johan Santana (keep in mind Justin Upton only spent a few months in Frostbite's uniform--was a Reback!!!), the winner of this deal was YUMA!!! Way to go Chris!!! Loser is Brooklyn!!! YEah...
I know I'm going to recieve critizm for the trade but its fine. You don't need a rotation of 5 stars to win. I have 3 (Webb, Santana, Beckett), with a strong backing of Shawn Hill and Dustin McGowan... oh Rich Harden (top 10 pitcher) when healhty... and I'm getting him back soon :)
SO I still have a leathal rotation (and Proven, with 3 top 5 or 10 aces), a budding offense (and who was it that said I won't score runs... last time I checked, I thought I scored in the last two games 20 +... hmmm), and depth from the OF to trade teams in need...
For now, what people have said about my team hasn't held water; I have scored plently of runs (you said I wouldn't), I have BARB's best pitching staff (lead leading 2.00+ ERA; someone said some of my pitchers numbers won't tranlate in barb), and I'm in first place (hmm... who would have guessed that but me)!
SO again, my team will prove you wrong with this, as we have done so so far!
AND good luck to MOABS; your in need of SP and don't have the luxtry of mine or Yuma or even Frostbite's rotation; yeah its deep, but its sure looking bad right now (performace not there).
ME, its QUALITY OVER QUANITIY
LOL, first, what is "luxtry?" Second, if your team was perfect and dominating, then why would you ruin it? Also, my back end of the rotation is better than yours now, congrats! Whereas you are correct that Webb, Santana, and Beckett are aces, my aces can steal a game here and there especially with my team overall. I think you are dead wrong, allegedly (new word so that I don't get in trouble with any owners--get used to it), in trading your aces, your team has become average and futuristic now! You are built for next year and the following. Frostbite is far and away the team to beat now. Yuma just won the West (or wherever you two are) and Darwin may just move up to 3rd in the East, unless he can pull another coup. Ron single-handedly moved the championship out East, AGAIN!!!
Wanna make a bet on that? I will make the playoffs this year and so far so good! Built for the future... of course, but also for now. Can you tell me what Justin Upton is doing right now? Can you tell me how good he is... A RARE FREAKEN FIND PRODUCING RIGHT NOW HELPING AN OFFENSE YOU SAID WONT SCORE RUNS OF WHICH WERE DOING RIGHT NOW...
Also, Webb, Santana and Beckett are fanasity baseball's top 5 in many books, and you don't have one, so please don't compare you "aces" with the likes of the few elite!
And can you tell me how good shawn hill and McGowan are? ALSO, when healhty (hes coming back soon now) how good Harden is?
Built for the future yes, but present yes too! I made moves that will help me now and future; i'm one of the few teams that are set up well for this season and the next.
ALSO, my team isn't perfect but dominate it can will be many times. IF my team was perfect (there is no team that is like that; sorry Matt not even yours lol), then I wouldn't ruin a 100% perfect, thing! lol.
sugh.... when i call doctors and try to get Ron checked into a program for "incessant and uncontrollabl fantasy trading" they laugh at me like I'M the crazy one.
oh and Ron congrats on step 1 of handing Chris the division on a platter. "only needing 3 aces" when you HAD 4 is like saying having 3 Ferarri's instead of 4 is better.....
Jeff is brilliant. I don't think I could have said it differently. Us in the East play a different type of ball, so far only Chris can beat us. See you in October... And for the record Upton is a great player but for the cost of Hamels??? Really, I mean aces are much more rare than OF, I do NOT care how talented Upton is (OF is dime a dozen). LOL three aces instead of four... Jeff's so smart.
everything that eric and jeff said is exactly what i said yesterday. ron has a great eye for trading and bringing in talent, but he just doesn't know when to stop. its a never ending rebuilding process. like john kerry said, "i have a plan".....ron keeps changing his. he is hinging his hopes on three pitchers(hill, harden, mcgowan) who all have extensive injury histories and an offense that needs some plate discipline with its younger players. if beckett goes down, ron is in deep trouble. sure, if you get to the playoffs you need about 3 great starters. but you have to get to the playoffs first, and you need more than three (hell, you need four for the playoffs with this league!) andrew has a huge edge in the division with hamels, and i think i have the edge in mine (stable ownership+patience+DEEP minor league system=success) take a hint ron. this plan has worked!
by the way, the results: five playoff appearnces, four division titles, three world series appearnces and one WS win.
guys, dont bother arguing with ron. he is very defensive when it comes to his team.
this deal is not fair and should not be allowed. One and half prospects for an all-star ace is not in the best interest of the league.
