Beginning in the fourth round, you see a lot of older, established relievers being selected. George Sherrill is 30 years old! Somehow I don't see a lefty specialist whose best pitch is a breaking ball having a long run in the closer's role, but of course he won't be asked to play that role by the Elims....right?
Anyway, there was quite a run on the young bullpen arms early in this year's draft, the first time that's happened, but also a sign that the talent pool is narrowing, because otherwise we would've seen more starters tabbed. I seriously question a LOT of the arms that many of my fellow GM's took, starting in the fourth round.
I am telling you now, that if the East does not have lefty relievers, the East is going to be burned by my all-star lineup. It is loaded. Ichiro, Ganderson, Bay, Miguel Cabrera, Tulowitzki, Utley, Howard and McCann. Seriously, all all-stars in the last two seasons. Bay is the weakest of the bunch, and many deemed him the future of an organization prior to the injury riddled previous season.

thats correct. all i care about is his 2.36 ERA, more strikeouts than IP, and the fact that lefties hit .156 against him.

CJ Wilson was a steal for me. the allowed lefties to hit only .112 against him. just sick.
