Well, it's time to get BARB officially underway. Owners should have received a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet prepared by Worcester GM Matt Caskey with assistance from Frostbite GM Andrew Haynes that lists all the rosters with their current salaries. Thanks, gentlemen! Obviously, when you see it, most teams are WAY over the cap and so all owners should be busy figuring out who their protected players are. If you need guidelines for that, see this previous post.
Technically, we are now in a period where we can make trades and I am sorry to say that I let this skip my mind. I haven't been in regular communication with GM's for several weeks now, and I think this has had a demoralizing effect on some of you. There have been some unpleasant emails zipping through the BARB-O-Sphere, so again, if I've contributed to these problems, please consider this an apology.
All is not gloomy! Please keep in mind that we had an unprecedented GM's meeting back in early January and that we have a drop-dead date to commit to participation in this season's Draft just a few days from now (Feb. 19th). After that date, we will commit to the Draft, either on Saturday, March 22nd or Monday, March 24th. There will be near-daily updates on the blog beginning this week. I look forward to an exciting Draft in March and a competitive 2008 season!
