STILL LOOKING FOR AN EDGE?

Well, this is interesting. The Rocket is willing to testify to Congressmen on the fly, but is balking at giving a deposition in advance to attorneys, who could then dissect Clemens's testimony for things that don't add up, then squeeze him under the lights.

Sounds like Clemens is still pitching, and wants to continue to make his pitches downhill. The trouble is, those pesky public servants, they're crowding the plate and he's not going to be able to brush them back.

All I know is that Congress should take the kid gloves off and subpoena the guy, so he can have the opportunity to face the same stark choices met by Mr. Bonds. Tell the truth, make something up, or take the Fifth, Roger---but know, in advance, that if you get caught, it could mean jail time. Not a fine, not a chorus of boos. Jail, Mr. Clemens. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not expect a call from the Hall.

Amen. I am suprised to hear that no one is coming to the Rocket's aid. I do not hear the claims that steriods do not improve a pitcher's velocity, movement, or location. I heard that with Mr. Bonds. The fact is, they cheated. So did Tejada, Giambi, Caminiti, McGuire, Sosa, and too many others, and Mr. Mitchell was correct to say the players that abuse created an artificial advantage. It is not fair, and for all those that want "Level playing field" (in social factors and such) perhaps we, the people, should demand our leaders to take aggressive punishment for our idols.
