GAME DAY 125!

FROSTBITE FALLS 6, ARIZONA 2
WP: Rich Hill (8-5, 5.38)
LP: Felix Hernandez (6-6, 4.44)

Rich Hill took a no-hitter into the sixth against his former club and ended up going all the way with plenty of run support from Michael Young (who had three hits) and Mark Teahen (who homered), as the Squirrels pulled within a game and a half of Worcester.

BROOKLYN 7, YUMA 4
WP: Chien-Mien-Wang (7-5, 3.62)
LP: Carlos Zambrano (10-8, 3.61)
SV: Wickman (3)

Ryan Howard hit a three-run homer in the first, his 29th of the season, as the Moabs coasted to a win a day after one of their more heartbreaking losses of the season, and still only four games out in the competitive East.

SAN JOSE 9, WORCESTER 7
WP: Brad Hennesey (6-7, 4.92)
LP: Gil Meche (9-6, 4.72)
SV: Frasor (2)

Brad Hennesey was spectacular in long relief, fanning eight over five innings, and Freddie Sanchez and Jack Wilson both doubled with runners on as part of a five-run sixth, and the Rockets went on to hold off the league’s winningest club.

LAS VEGAS 16, BOOM STICKS 14
WP: Scott Olsen (9-1, 3.48)
LP: Nate Robertson (7-17, 4.35)
SV: Snell (1)

Not a typo. Vegas led 16-6 in the seventh, but A-Rod tripled with the bases loaded and three relievers managed to walk the bases loaded twice in the ninth, leading to an eight-run inning and another chance for Rodriguez, who this time flied harmlessly to center. Earlier, Prince Fielder had his biggest game in a Vegas uni, with a HR (only his sixth of the year, amazingly enough) and 5 RBI.

BLACK MESA 5, DARWIN 4 (11 innings)
WP: John Maine (11-12, 3.65)
LP: Cla Meredith (2-3, 1.75)

John Maine was tremendous in long relief for an ineffective Justin Verlander, protected a 4-4 tie for seven innings, as the suddenly-ice-cold Finches tailspin continued. Josh Barfield came off the bench and lined an RBI single with two out in the bottom of the 11th of J.J. Putz for the win and another nail in the coffin for the Unnatural Selections. Can they recover?
