GAME DAY 130 ACTION

ACTION:

BLACK MESA 7, POTTSYLVANIA 2

WP: Ricky Romero (2-2, 5.31)
LP: Cliff Lee (13-8, 2.99)
SV: Papelbon (27)

Raul Ibanez, only in the lineup because of injuries to All-Star 1B Justin Morneau, began the 2nd with a leadoff single, then capped the inning eight batters later with a two-run double as the visiting Anomalies slapped seven runs on a shocked Cliff Lee en route to the club’s seventh win in their last ten games. Pottsylvania (72-57) failed to gain any ground on the Horned Toads.

ST. FRANCIS 7, DARWIN 5

WP: Jason Vargas (6-2, 1.85)
LP: Scott Kazmir (2-6, 6.99)

The Unnatural Selections blasted three homers, including Chipper Jones’s 20th of the season, but it was the expansion Friars batting around in the fourth that had the huge offensive showing, getting six runs off starter Scott Kazmir and dropped the Finches (73-53) one game closer to winning Yuma. In a further piece of bad news, the Finches were forced to put All-Star CF Josh Hamilton on the ‘unable to perform’ list. It seems likely that the injury-plagued Hamilton will miss the rest of the season.

YUMA 7, CASSELTON 2

WP: Joe Blanton (9-12, 4.37)
LP: Carlos Zambrano (7-8, 5.49)

The Firebirds beat their former teammate with a big game from LF Ryan Braun, who hit his 24th HR (a solo shot) in the first against Zambrano, an RBI groundout in the fourth vs. J.A. Happ and a sac fly in the seventh. Joe Blanton won for the second time in as many starts since being acquired by the Firebirds down the stretch.

It seems there are a few players who just don't perform well in BARB for one reason or another. I've noticed a few guys like this. Maybe you just got stuck with a lot of them this year.
