# 1The Arizona D-Backs (now rechristened Lexington?) were the first team to formerly cut a deal on Draft Day, sending their 2nd-round pick, SS Jose Reyes and RHP Craig Hansen to Pottsylvania for the Creeper's 1st- and 3rd-round selections, 2B Rickie Weeks, and OF Colby Rasmus.
The Rebels would use those picks to select RHP Joba Chamberlain and C Matt Wieters, while Pottsylvania picked up reliever Manny Delcarmen.
#2 The Worcester Eliminators traded their 2nd- and 3rd-round picks along with the rights to RHP Brad Lidge to Pottsylvania in exchange for the Creepers' 4th- and 9th-round selections, along with rookie LHP Jon Lester.
Ironically, Pottsylvania would lose the unprotected Lidge in the draft, as the Ballers snagged him in the fourth round. The Creepers would select unheralded OF Brian Barton with a compensation pick for the loss of Lidge, while using the other picks they received to select LHP Hideki Okajima and SS Ryan Theriot. Worcester, meanwhile, called the names of LHP George Sherrill and 1B Steve Pearce.
#3 The Frostbite Falls Flying Squirrels sent LHP Andrew Miller and OF Delmon Young to the Boom Sticks in order to obtain S-Mart's 3rd-, 4th- and 9th-round picks. GM Andrew Haynes used those picks to select LHP B.J. Ryan, RHP Tony Pena and...at press time....a name that could not be read.
More to come...!
