As this report went to press, the Darwin Finches (three games out in the East, and with a three-game lead in the wild card) were pressing hard on the trade market, in an attempt to insure themselves a playoff spot. It was known that the Unnatural Selections, eager to return Chad Billingsley to the rotation and return Josh Hamilton to the lineup, have been dangling (among others) LHP Tom Glavine and RHP Cla Meredith...but have received no takers.
Now news has reached this front that a deal with the Pottsylvania Creepers involving an outfielder and pitching for a package involving RHP Gil Meche is imminent . . .!
