In a brief statement, BARB Commissioner Scott Hatfield confirmed that an earlier press release detailing a supposed deal between the Yuma Firebirds and the Las Vegas Luchadores contained some inaccuracies.
"It was WRONG of us to announce the deal before it was checked," Hatfield said. "In fact, I might be WRONG to say that there was a deal in the first place involving Prince Fielder. You would be MISTAKEN, too, if you thought that (Yuma RHP) Matt Cain was likely to be dealt to any BARB club, inasmuch as he is a 'keeper'.
"Anyway," Hatfield concluded, "As Howie Mandel might've said, 'no deal.' Sorry about the confusion."

maybe i have had a long day, but did the deal go through? Or is the league cancelling the deal?
