In a long-rumored but delayed* transaction, the S-Mart Boom Sticks (still in the Central Division hunt) confirmed that they would deal starting C A.J. Pyrzinski, RHP Juan Cruz and LHP J.C. Romero to the Lexington Rebels. In return, the Boom Sticks would receive highly-touted catching prospect Matt Wieters and a player to be named.

* Editor's Note: This trade was originally announced on Lexington's blog on August 4th, but confirmation of the trade was not received through e-mail from both parties until August 18th, and it has taken some time to sort out all the particulars. This shows that if parties want trades to be completed, they really need to make sure they submit matching e-mails in a timely manner.
